An Open Letter to United States President Barack Obama

Dear Mr. President:
It is time for Peace. The United States can be the leader for peace in the world by creating a way for the Culture of Peace to thrive. The United Nations offered A Culture of Peace Initiative in 1999. Peace Production is working locally and globally to nurture a tender culture that brings humans to kindness and compassion – individually and collectively. Will you do what you can to support this process of shifting from war consciousness to a Culture of Peace for a New Humanity of Heartists?
The world has in the past looked to the United States for leadership. We feel that time has passed - and now the world looks to US as bullies and warmongers. One act that could change the global perspective would be for you, Mr. President, to Declare Peace as a vital part of our future for our children’s children. Your commitment to the United Nations’ Culture of Peace Initiative could be expressed before you leave office in an innovative way that would gain the world’s attention and provide ways to produce peace.
The Dream:
Take the world’s largest weapon of war – the aircraft carrier – and decommission it to offer the world a Peace Vessel. Like the United Nations is for governments, Peace Vessel would be for the people of the world – like a Noah’s Ark for today… continually circling the globe connecting humanity in the heart.
A “Peace Vessel” in international waters would change our world and provide a safe haven where we can explore the Culture of Peace and share that culture with humanity. President Barak Obama becomes the PeaceMaker of legend.
Respectfully,

- Conference activities on board the Peace Vessel would explore solutions to regional disputes, as well as economic and cultural challenges between ports.
- Port events would share wisdom and unite humanity through compassionate education.
- Peace Vessel would be a broadcast station, think tank, place of refuge, and model of innovative self sufficiency with gardens, living quarters, studios, science explorations and more.
- Peace Vessel would make her maiden voyage from Pearl Harbor to Japan, using new technology to heal the waters of Pacifica and the hearts of humanity.
A “Peace Vessel” in international waters would change our world and provide a safe haven where we can explore the Culture of Peace and share that culture with humanity. President Barak Obama becomes the PeaceMaker of legend.
